Yesterday's know-how... tomorrow's solutions? 5th meeting

Natural heritage, cultural heritage: bringing them together

One Thursday a month, come and explore the links between heritage and ecological transition! Yesterday's know-how... tomorrow's solutions?

What links exist between heritage and ecological transition? How can traditional know-how and buildings of the past inspire us to think about new ways of envisioning tomorrow's world? Valuing heritage and committing to ecological transition: is it possible?

This 5ᵉ evening invites us to explore the links between gardens and landscapes, heritage and plants...

How does man manage nature? What does it tell us about his relationship with nature? While protecting heritage and promoting plants often seem incompatible, isn't restoring gardens a way of reconnecting human development and natural elements? To what extent can plants contribute to heritage enhancement?

To explore these questions, we turn to Joël Châtain, DPLG landscape architect and founder ofAgence pour la Terre, whose projects are steeped in local history. He places the identity of sites at the heart of his profession, so that their restoration or development is carried out with respect for their history.

His lecture will be accompanied by exhibition panels highlighting a variety of REMPART sites in Île-de-France, which give pride of place to plants, both as heritage objects and as tools for promoting heritage.
