Heritage workcamps
The volunteer workcamp: a human and cultural adventure
Whatever your age or skills, you too can preserve our heritage, discover new trades, preserve the environment and create social links, by taking part in a volunteer workcamp.
Restoring and passing on
You can take concrete action on your assets, thanks to the advice of specialists who pass on their know-how.
By promoting a local heritage, you contribute to the development of a region and its inhabitants.
Whether you're confirming a vocation or discovering a passion, the volunteer workcamp will enable you to acquire skills and know-how that will be useful in your personal and professional life.
Doing and living together
You're taking action for a more sustainable world, by discovering and sharing more virtuous collective and individual practices.
By sharing the daily lives of people from different social and cultural backgrounds, you contribute to the inclusion of all, to respect for others and to dialogue between peoples.
Reveal your potential and develop your power as a citizen by taking part in a project of general interest.
Makinga lasting commitment
Whether it isa children's, teenager's, family or adult workcamp, the volunteer workcamp is often the starting point for a longer-term commitment. The REMPART network offers a diversity of opportunities that every volunteer can seize at any time in his or her life:
- Training to lead "Historic Monument" worksites
- Pedagogy and Organization " workcamp leadership training course
- BAFA "Heritage, culture and environment " workcamps
- Supervising a volunteer workcamp
- Civic Service " Restoration, animation or promotion of heritage " missions
- Lead an educational project with a local association
- Get involved in community life and offer your help or skills

"Always interested in culture and heritage, this course was my first step into the associative life of Remparts and encourages me to continue getting involved in this way in my spare time.
We received a warm welcome, quickly got on well as a group and managed to organize ourselves to live well together.
Archaeology has always been a dream of mine, and I'm proud to have been able to put some of my hard work into helping to preserve a historic site. "
Lucile, 27, volunteer in Occitanie

Accessible to all, at any age
REMPART workcamps are open to everyone, with no qualifications or experience required (except in special cases). You don't need any special skills to take part in the restoration of a chapel, a wash-house or a fortress: our teams of leaders are there to teach you traditional techniques. Talent is revealed in action, and everyone will find a role to play in the restoration project.
Accessible to all ages
There are no age restrictions either: everyone can find a work site.
Children (aged 8 and over) and teenagers are welcomed on specially designed stays. The pace and nature of the workcamp activities are adapted to their age, and the program leaves plenty of room for off-site activities (sports, heritage discovery, creative workshops, etc.). Our camps comply with regulations governing the reception of minors (supervision, accommodation, etc.).
From the age of 18, you can take part in so-called "adult" workcamps, most of which are open without any upper age limit. No reason to think you're "too old"!
Some workcamps are also open to families.
