REMPART Bourgogne-Franche-Comté is a federation that coordinates more than 40 associations whose associative project is to restore heritage in order to create sustainable activities that contribute to local development and the promotion of a territory.
Activities are tailored to each association's project: festivals, conferences, publications, educational initiatives for schoolchildren, opening of sites to the public, know-how transfer courses, initiation to traditional restoration techniques.
These activities, in addition to enhancing the value of the heritage site, create a local tourist and economic dynamic, and encourage social cohesion around a collective project.
Our core business is the organization of international volunteer workcamps.
As the head of the network, the Federation coordinates the "Chantiers de Bénévoles" scheme across the region. Its missions are to
- Representation to institutional authorities
- Technical follow-up in conjunction with the DRAC's Heritage Department
- Advice for local associations
- Training activities for association managers and leaders
- Promotion of activities
- Recruitment of volunteers
- Recruitment of seasonal activity leaders
- Coordination and follow-up of workcamps
The Federation has an educational department whose aim is to raise awareness of heritage trades in schools, through a traveling stonemason's workshop. Workshops include the construction of a Romanesque church made up of 600 stones on a 1/10th scale, a stone carving and engraving workshop, and a modeling workshop.

The educational department offers the Atelier Itinérant du Tailleur de Pierre.
It's suitable for all ages, from 6 to 18. Depending on school levels, and in collaboration with teachers, it is adapted to school curricula and thus meets the requirements of Artistic and Cultural Education set up by the French Ministries of Education and Culture.
In addition to the workshops on offer, the educational service also raises awareness of the heritage professions.
