Recently accredited as a "Espace de Vie Sociale", the association also contributes in various ways to local life at the château or Maison Labat, and we are committed to remaining a place of life and civic engagement.
Still very much involved in heritage restoration through volunteer workcamps, the association shares its know-how through training courses.
For us, a volunteer workcamp is an opportunity for everyone to get their hands dirty and play a practical part in safeguarding our heritage.
It's a way of getting involved in protecting and passing on a heritage of stone.
It's also a chance to learn about life in a community with volunteers from all walks of life.
It's an opportunity to discover a region while doing something useful.
It's a holiday that lets you acquire techniques and take real action to safeguard a site, while discovering the region and meeting new people.
Richness guaranteed!
Anchored in the commune of Villandraut in southern Gironde, the association manages the tourist reception and animates the Château de Villandraut site through various cultural events. It also gives future generations a taste for history by hosting heritage classes. For a day or a longer stay, pupils can discover the Middle Ages, archaeology, architecture, stone-cutting, heraldry, the medieval garden... Workshops designed and adapted for classes of all levels, from kindergarten onwards.
Our association acts locally for the integration of people in difficulty, thanks to our recognition as a "Atelier Chantier d'Insertion", which enables us to support more than seventeen people throughout the year, helping them to rebuild their lives while developing know-how on the building sites.
