The Adichats association, based in Villandraut in southern Gironde, invites you to take part in the archaeological collections worksite at the Château de Villandraut!

Since 1983, the Adichats association has been working to preserve and enhance this majestic palace-fortress built in the 14thcentury by Pope Clement V. This jewel of medieval architecture, a testament to the splendor of the era, is currently being restored by members of the association and volunteers during summer work camps. At the same time, archaeological digs, particularly in the moat, are revealing valuable information about the history and use of the site over the centuries. Thanks to these efforts, the Château de Villandraut is coming back to life, offering a vibrant testimony to the heritage of the Aquitaine region.

Whether you're passionate about history and archaeology, or just curious, come and join our collections team, dedicated to the archaeological material excavated from the castle moat. These objects, veritable fragments of medieval and modern daily life, require meticulous cleaning, study and inventory to reveal their secrets. Whether you're an enthusiastic amateur, a student, a neophyte or a confirmed specialist, your contribution will be invaluable in deepening our understanding of this unique heritage. Join us and take part in this collective adventure at the heart of Villandraut's history!

Accommodation and living environment

You'll be staying in a magnificent 19th-century manor house, offering a unique setting full of charm. The spacious, convivial rooms sleep between 4 and 8 people, with separate showers and toilets to ensure your comfort. An experienced cook will be on hand to prepare tasty meals, so you can enjoy your stay worry-free. Located in a large green area, this house is surrounded by nature, ideal for relaxing and sharing moments in the great outdoors. Thanks to its large surface area, several rooms are also available for you to relax in peace and quiet. Last but not least, a large, warm and welcoming living room will enable you to gather at the end of the day for moments of conviviality in a relaxed atmosphere.
