The "Les Nouveaux Troubadours" association has been running an artistic creation and exchange center in the Aveyron village of Saint-Sever-du-Moustier since 1987. The first years were devoted to restoring an old hotel on the village square. Since 2003, the association has been building an unusual edifice out of stone, sculpture and mosaic, an imaginary palace in perpetual evolution: "La Construction Insolite".This crazy idea was born of the desire to organize creative workcamps, stays and training courses, not for renovation, but for the creation of a collective work of art, supervised by professional technical instructors.

The association has a wide range of "hooky" activities, i.e. on the bangs of artistic circuits and big cities, with the common thread of :

• Bringing the region to life and living together in it
• Make artistic creation accessible and encourage it in rural areas, while promoting it internationally.

Les Nouveaux Troubadours is :

• La Construction Insolite, an imaginary palace and permanent construction site to visit, where creative work camps, stays and training courses for adults and families are organized, in the spirit and framework of popular education.
• The Musée des Arts Buissonniers, dedicated to art brut and singular. It's open fromApril to October, and takes part in off-site exhibitions all year round.
• Le Bartassou, the village bar, where seasonal shows and concerts are held.
• Weekly workshops: a theater workshop for children and adults, and art workshops.
• La Bérézina, a Slavonic band.
• Village festivities and events.

A player in popular education

From the outset, the association has been a player in popular education, offering vacation stays, youth work camps and artistic workshops with REMPART, a network of heritage sites, and UFCV.
