Presentation

The Cercle d'Histoire et d'Archéologie du Saint Amandois was created in 1970 to study and promote local heritage. Its activities continue to focus on the Montrond fortress (13th-17th centuries), a major monument in the Saint-Amandois region.
The association intends to carry out a historical, archaeological and architectural study of this fortress. It also aims to conserve and enhance the structures uncovered for cultural and tourist purposes (creation of museum areas and visitor trails).

The association welcomes schoolchildren to the site for educational visits with their teachers. On request, it can also give talks in classrooms.

The association regularly employs people in difficulty under special schemes (CES-CEC). It has also participated in the organization of "chantiers-école".
