Presentation

Nestled in the heart of the Mediterranean Corbières, the small wine-growing village of Coustouge is surrounded by garrigue and wilderness. Over the past 20 years, we have welcomed more than 400 volunteers on a project to enhance the historic center. We propose to continue this adventure by completing the construction of dry-stone calades.

We rebuilt a completely ruined building on the village square. Each of the 3 floors is now home to a wide range of activities: a café associatif, with themed or shared meals that follow on from conferences, shows, screenings, etc.; a library and its eclectic range of activities; yoga and karate classes.

This year, we will be completing the landscaping of the village square (overlooked by the rebuilt building), by paving the ground with dry-stone calades.

The work takes place in the mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Lunchtime meals (always much appreciated) are prepared by our cook using fresh produce. Participants take it in turns to organize group life and prepare evening meals, either in pairs or collectively.

Weekends and afternoons are free: you can take advantage of the exceptional setting of the Corbières to go hiking or swimming in the river. Our workcamp is aimed at adults. There are no scheduled activities. If you bring your own vehicle, you can organize your own travel arrangements.
