Planned work

The château welcomes volunteers all year round to help with the association's many projects: archival research, study of objects unearthed during the excavation (ceramics, iron, glass, copper alloys), masonry, stone-cutting, heritage workshops for children, welcoming adults, etc. To appreciate the projects, volunteers are expected to attend regularly, mainly on Sundays, and to teach during the week.

Built in the second half of the 12th century and listed as a Monument Historique, the Château de Brie-Comte-Robert had gradually lost its importance as a result of deterioration over the centuries. The association, created in 1982, undertook to carry out an exhaustive archaeological excavation, which is now complete, to progressively restore the site and to promote it through a number of heritage initiatives.

A Heritage Interpretation Center, designed and managed by the association, offers visitors an excellent opportunity to discover medieval techniques and take part in the association's project.
