"Around a castle" - Château de Sanzay 3

Come and take part in the maintenance and renovation of the Château de Sanzay (13th and 14th centuries) and follow in the footsteps of Lord Radulphe de Sanzay, who was bored to death.

You'll be able to choose from a range of workcamps to develop and embellish the château. Tinkering, sharing, exchanging... but also living to the rhythm of the association, its trouble traps and its summer activities.

Château de Sanzay has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1930. The fortified enclosure, surrounded by a moat, appears to have been built in the 13th century. The 15th century saw the addition of a dwelling and an entrance châtelet with an arrow-drawn drawbridge, to protect against unwanted visitors. Finally, farm buildings were added in the 19th century.

ON THE PROGRAM :

- Beautification, de-vegetation, landscaping and renovation of the Château.

- Participation in activities, cultural events and the life of the association.

- Activities involving nature, art, crafts and cooking.

- Discovery of local and/or regional heritage.

- Participation in the creation of the "fear trail" for the Halloween party.

RHYTHM OF THE WORK :

Mornings will be devoted to the site, and afternoons to discovery and leisure activities. Afternoons, whether free or organized, will enable volunteers to discover our region.

The workcamp is supervised by a professional team and is open to all. You'll be working alongside the association's volunteers, as well as groups staying with us during this period.

All daily chores (washing up, cleaning, etc.) are carried out collectively. After the day's work, the young people are picked up by the team at the accommodation site.

The association takes care of meals: lunches are provided by the Colporteurs canteen, while breakfasts and dinners are prepared by the volunteers. A fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal.

You'll live to the rhythm of the association, its summer activities and its "trouble traps": discovering the château, activities, cultural events, concerts & evenings, etc.
