The association restores, preserves and animates monuments and natural or built sites in Aveyron. Its aim is also to reintegrate unemployed people in difficulty.
The Association des Amis du Château de Montaigut is the headquarters of Union REMPART in Occitanie.
Les Amis du Château de Montaigut has set up educational activities for schoolchildren. A program is proposed or can be drawn up in consultation with teachers, based on the site's resources. Individual, group and themed tours are available all year round. Games and treasure hunts are available for children, as well as the loan of princess and knight costumes. During the first two weeks of August, the château hosts an all-ages theater festival.
For over twenty years, the association has been welcoming people in great difficulty, whether on the RSA or young people. These people are mainly referred by the Centre Médico Social de Saint-Affrique or by the Mission Locale Départementale de Saint-Affrique.
The structure in place enables them to gradually reintegrate into society (group life) and the workplace (discovery or rediscovery of the world of work), giving them the skills they need to adapt to the society in which we live and regain their dignity and employment.
