Presentation

Since 1989, the Gombervaux Association has been preserving, studying and bringing to life the Château de Gombervaux, a 14th-century fortified house in the heart of Joan of Arc country.

The Gombervaux Association has been a member of the REMPART Union since its inception. Since then, and to this day, the association's conservation work has been structured around a "Stones" workcamp in July, highlighted by the "Concert pour une pierre", an annual event organized during the workcamp. A "Calepinage" workcamp in the spring has been added to the restoration program to survey and analyze the building's exterior facing.

Since 2017/2018, the Association has multiplied its worksite themes. Stained glass and carpentry sessions have been added to the summer program.

Today, the Gombervaux Association hosts 5 workcamp sessions a year. Since 2022, it has also hosted an international ERASMUS + work camp on the Gombervaux site.

The Associaiton Gombervaux's core mission is to promote heritage by organizing a wide range of events in the area (discovery days, JEP, concerts, conferences, nature outings, etc.), as well as by offering appropriate historical and cultural meThe aim is to welcome all kinds of visitors to the Gombervaux site (adults, schoolchildren, people with disabilities, people with disabilities, etc.), and to provide an educational and entertaining introduction to daily life in the Middle Ages.
