Pedagogy and site organization course - Toul
Organised by "REMPART Grand-East"
Complementary to the "Leading volunteer workcamps on historic monuments" training course, this course covers the role and function of the leader and the responsibilities inherent in supervising a group of international volunteers.the role and function of the leader, and the responsibilities inherent in supervising a group of international volunteers.
Dedicated to volunteers, association leaders and members of associations, this course provides the skills needed to welcome and manage a group on workcamps.
This course is co-organized with the Libdeau Chapelle Templière association, whose aim is to safeguard and promote the 12th-13th century Templar chapel of the same name, located in the countryside near the town of Toul (Meurthe-et-Moselle). Protected as a Monument Historique, the chapel's architecture is remarkable for its large rose window, which suggests that it was built in parallel with Toul Cathedral. It represents the transition from Romanesque to Gothic architecture in Lorraine. It is bordered by a plot of land that was the former cemetery of the Templar commandery, which became a commandery of the Order of Malta.
The course focuses on teaching methods, dealing with the public and the overall logistical organization of a volunteer workcamp. The aim is to enable trainees to grasp the responsibilities inherent in leadership missions, both in terms of the stay itself and its integration into the local environment. The course is divided into theoretical and practical sessions at the Chapelle Templière de Libdeau.
41 hours of training spread over 5 days.
Practical exercises are organized to give you the essential keys to supervising a work site.
Trainees will benefit from an individual assessment with the course leader to consolidate their training path and continue to develop their skills.
Trainees arrive on Sunday evening, October 27. The course starts on Monday morning and ends on Friday November 1st around 4pm.
Accommodation in self-catering cottages in the historic center of Toul, close to the Saint-Etienne cathedral.
Trainees will be invited to help prepare meals and maintain the gîte.
