Between archaeological activities, woodworking and blacksmithing, take part in the maintenance and animation of the Ducal Tower of Siedlęcin, a medieval tower in south-west Poland.

Located in Lower Silesia, the Ducal Tower of Siedlęcin was completed in the early 14th century, and its history dates back to the first Polish Piast dynasty. The only one of its kind in the world, the tower contains a marvellous fresco from the time of its construction, depicting the legend of Lancelot of the Lake and his amorous adventures with Queen Guinevere, King Arthur's famous wife.
This medieval residence, which retains its charm of yesteryear, boasts a magnificent original timber frame and wooden tile roof, which was installed after the fire in the 16th century and crowns the masterpiece of Duke Henryk I Jaworski, the founder of the Tower of Siedlęcin.

Over the course of 3 weekends, volunteers will work on the English river, learning landscape masonry techniques under the guidance of heritage, old building and landscape professionals.
The work will involve cleaning up the river, clearing and resealing masonry using traditional techniques. Volunteers will participate in the landscaping of plant species around the river and the enhancement of its course, in particular the small spring waterfall.

Other volunteer activities during your stay
|
Beyond the preservation of built heritage, the association is committed to passing on the history of the region. During your stay, the last pupils and their teacher will come and recount their memories of the village school you'll be restoring. In this way, you'll be able to play your part in collecting the memories of the village of Saint Perdoux.

Group living and accommodation
|
During your stay, you will be supervised by 2 guides. The technical supervisor will teach you all about traditional building techniques, while the educational supervisor will help you organize your daily life and activities.
The time set aside for the work is around 32 hours a week for adults. Work on the site generally takes place in the morning, starting early because of the summer heat. After the morning's work, the afternoons, evenings and weekends are devoted to outdoor activities and discovery, providing relaxation and enjoyment. A vehicle will be made available to the supervisors to help them organize outings.
You will take it in turns to prepare meals as a team. This way, everyone can share recipes from their own region, and take advantage of the stay to sample the countless specialities of other regions or countries. If you're already a "chef", that's perfect; if you're not... Get cooking!

You'll be staying at the municipal soccer stadium. You'll have access to the stadium's changing rooms and common areas. You'll sleep in tents large enough to accommodate two people.
Cots will be available for those who don't have their own camping equipment. You can bring your own mattress or cot.

Leisure and other activities
|
On all our workcamps, we want volunteers to play a real part in their stay, so we invite them to work together to propose the activities and events of their choice, in keeping with the values that the association wishes to uphold.
Some ideas for outings : The Dalle aux Ammonites, known to geologists the world over, the Romanesque Monastery of Ganagobie, the Priory, Museum and Garden of Salagon, the Citadel of Sisteron, the Penitents of Les Mées, hikes in the lower Alps and the Luberon, swimming in the Verdon Gorge and nearby lakes.
Highlight of the project: a major medieval festival in the heart of the village. A complete week-end to discover life in the Middle Ages.

Last year's volunteer achievements

In 2024, in just 5 days, the group of volunteers restored the toilets in the former school, now a café associatif. The toilets are now used by people who come to take part in the association's activities, and at events organized by the town hall.
